Airwing instrumental in three arrests

Police air wing officers were instrumental in the arrest of three people after two vehicles were observed driving at high speed in separate incidents early this morning.

In the first incident, the air wing observed a red Ford sedan travelling at high speed on Heatherton Road, Noble Park on Monday, 27 December about 12.30am after it attempted to evade police.

The airwing alerted police on the ground who located the vehicle in Cherry Hills Grove, Cranbourne.

The male driver and female passenger ran from the vehicle and were arrested a short distance away.

They are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

In the second incident, the air wing noticed a white Toyota SUV travelling at high speed on Ballarto Road, Carrum Downs about 1am.

The airwing alerted police on the ground who deployed stop sticks on Cranbourne-Frankston Road.

The vehicle stopped at Hall Road, Cranbourne West where the male driver was arrested without incident.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
