Alice Springs Water Allocation Plan Review

The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) is inviting Territorians to have their say about the 5 year review of the Alice Springs Water Allocation Plan 2016 to 2026.

The Plan commenced in February 2016 with the 4 principal objectives being to:

· Maintain public water supply

· Protect the environment

· Support Indigenous culture and communities; and

· Ensure sustainable development

DEPWS will prepare a report at the conclusion of the consultation process for the Environment Minister to consider and might include recommendations that the Plan:

· Either remain as is without any changes; or

· Be modified where appropriate for the remainder of the Plan’s lifespan

The survey period ends on 11 December 2020.
