Andrews whacks another $6 billion on credit card

Liberal Party Victoria

Daniel Andrews’ latest hollow health promise means billions of dollars more in new taxes on Victorian households and small businesses.

In just more than a fortnight, Daniel Andrews has announced a massive $9.73 billion in unfunded health promises.

With Victoria’s debt already greater than New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania combined – these unfunded promises simply mean more taxes for Victorian households and small businesses.

Additionally, an expected 0.5 per cent increase in interest rates today will add another more than $1 billion to the interest bill on Andrews’ debt – enough to build an entire hospital.

In contrast, the Victorian Liberals and Nationals have clear plan to fix the health crisis without raising new taxes or adding even more debt.

We will shelve Daniel Andrews’ $35 billion Cheltenham to Box Hill rail line and reprioritising every single cent into health.

Of the more than $11 billion Labor has already set aside for his rail project, we have so far committed $4.567 billion for 16 new or upgraded hospitals – less than half of the funds available.

That is why only the Liberals and Nationals can fix the health crisis, without raising taxes.
