Ovarian Cancer Australia

Ovarian Cancer Australia, the leading independent charity for women and those impacted by this gynaecological cancer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Anna Boltong as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 27th. Anna will succeed Jane Hill who has been Ovarian Cancer Australia’s CEO for 8 years, where the charity grew from 10 staff to 41.

Jane has been instrumental in building OCA’s financial position and growing its impact, including launching OCA’s flagship Teal Support Program, a free telehealth outreach program supporting women with ovarian cancer throughout their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Under Jane and her team’s leadership, over 1000 women have benefited from the national service.

Speaking about the announcement, Meghan Speers, Chair of Ovarian Cancer Australia, said, “Our people, Board and Community are so very grateful for Jane’s leadership and her genuine passion for our mission. Jane’s steadfast leadership and dedication to governance and advocacy has transformed the organisation and its service offering over her time leading the organisation. Anna has a deep passion for improving outcomes for women impacted by Ovarian Cancer. Anna brings a wealth of knowledge driving system change within the cancer space and we were impressed at her approach to collaboration both internally within organisations, but also across the sector.”

Anna has a rich and diverse experience encompassing clinical practice, education, service management, administration, strategic planning, policy development, and senior executive roles. Her most recent position was Head of Cancer Control Strategy at Cancer Australia, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the forthcoming Australian Cancer Plan.

Anna notes, “I am thrilled to carry on Jane’s work. Under her leadership, OCA has inspired us with their tireless advocacy on behalf of women in Australia, and I look forward to continuing this important work.”

Jane Hill will be assisting with the transition until Anna’s commencement to ensure there is a comprehensive handover and effective continuity.
