APP2023 offers new pre-conference information session for overseas trained pharmacists ready for a pharmacy career in Australia

With Australia’s community pharmacy professionals coming together this week for the 2023 Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition, proprietors and pharmacists who undertook their training overseas are being urged to register for the complimentary pre-conference information session on Wednesday 22 March about the Career Preparedness for Australian Community Pharmacy Course.

The Australasian College of Pharmacy and The Pharmacy Guild of Australia have partnered to develop and deliver this exceptional course that will prepare overseas trained pharmacists for a pharmacy career in Australia.

This complimentary information session will cover the course format and overview, the price including the Guild Intern Training Program discount, and frequently asked questions.

APP2023 Conference convenor Kos Sclavos AM is encouraging pharmacy owners, who employ pharmacists trained overseas, and overseas trained pharmacists to attend this information session and learn more about this course.

“This course will arm pharmacists new to Australia with the knowledge to ensure an easy pathway to a career in Australian community pharmacy, including such topics as the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and practicing guidelines.

“The course has been developed by community pharmacy experts who understand the pathway overseas trained pharmacists must take to attain general pharmacist registration in Australia.

“Owners and those who have relocated to Australia, make sure you take the time to get to this information session,” says Mr Sclavos.
