Appeal after child approach, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance after reports of a child approach in Strathfield South today.

About 3pm (Tuesday 30 November 2021), police were told a 10-year-old boy was walking home from school on Liverpool Road, when he was approached by an unknown man.

The man grabbed the boy by the collar before attempting to pull the boy towards Amaroo Avenue. The boy was able to break free and run away.

The incident was reported to Auburn Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would also like to speak to a man who may be able to assist.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s, about 170cm – 175cm tall, of medium build, with a goatee and balding hair. He was wearing a blue button up shirt, brown pants and brown shoes.

Police are also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident, or have dashcam vision, to come forward.
