Appeal after fatal two-vehicle crash in Sylvania

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman died following a two-vehicle crash at Sylvania last month.

About 11.10am on Sunday 27 March 2022, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway near Birdwood Street, following reports a Toyota Corolla and Honda HR-V had collided in the southbound lanes.

The passenger of the Toyota – a 40-year-old woman – was freed from the vehicle and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.

The Toyota driver, a 33-year-old man, and the Honda driver, a-17-year-old girl, were both treated at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and with the assistance of specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police are appealing for anyone with information or who may have dashcam vision – particularly anyone who was travelling north on the Princess Highway – to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
