Appeal for information after critically-injured man dies at Waverley

Police are appealing for assistance from the public as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs this morning.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics

were called to Fletcher Street, Waverley, shortly after 4am (Sunday 17 March 2024), where they found a man critically injured.

Police and paramedics performed CPR but were unable to revive the man and he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and specialist assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) was requested. Fletcher Street remains closed between Glen and Silver streets.

Following extensive inquiries, police believe they’ve identified the deceased as a 28-year-old man.

Police are appealing for information from the public to establish how the man came to be injured.
