Appeal for information after two men assaulted, struck by car in Ashfield

Investigations are continuing after two men were hospitalised in a crash in Sydney’s inner west overnight.

Just after midnight (Sunday 15 January 2023), emergency services were called to Liverpool Road at Ashfield, following reports two men had been assaulted.

On arrival, officers from Burwood Police Area Command located two men, believed to be aged in their 30s, suffering serious head and torso injuries.

Both were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police have been told the men were involved in a verbal altercation with another group of men before they were assaulted and struck by a car while walking on the footpath.

A crime scene has been established as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
