Christou Architects has been selected to design early childhood education facilities at Nollamara Primary School which will provide new students with a modern learning environment.
The new two-classroom centre will provide exciting learning opportunities for kindergarten and pre-primary students as they begin their education journey.
The brief for the architect for the $2 million facility includes two early childhood classrooms, toilets, a kitchen and storage facilities.
With the project now in the planning stage, construction is expected to start in early 2021 with completion expected in late 2021.
This investment is part of the McGowan Government’s WA Recovery Plan to modernise Western Australian public schools and is expected to support four new jobs.
More than $492 million of new funding has been committed to construction projects at Western Australian public schools over the next four years.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“These new facilities at Nollamara Primary School, which originally opened in 1956, will provide young students with the best possible start to their education.
“I am thrilled that we can invest in this growing school and I am sure the new early childhood education centre will benefit the community for years to come.”
As stated by Morley MLA Amber-Jade Sanderson:
“Nollamara Primary School is a great local school in a fast-growing area.
“Parents have advocated for updated early learning facilities and I’m proud the McGowan Government is delivering this $2 million project.”
