Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has announced an exciting milestone for a major construction project at John Curtin College of the Arts.
TRCB Architects (formerly Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick Architects) have been appointed to lead the design of the new facilities.
The $23 million project will include state-of-the-art science and music learning areas, additional general classrooms and modern student services rooms.
Planning is already underway with construction due for completion during 2024.
The project is a McGowan Labor Government election commitment and will support local jobs.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“New learning spaces for science and music will ensure students and staff have access to the latest technology and modern facilities.
“Additional general classrooms will cater for increased enrolments as the school continues to be a popular choice for local families and students with talents in the arts.”
As stated by Fremantle MLA Simone McGurk:
“This was a key election commitment of mine, and an important project for the John Curtin College community. There are heritage and site sensitivities to this work so I’m looking forward to seeing how the designs navigate these and deliver improved facilities.
“This upgrade to one of the State’s premium arts and academic secondary schools will ensure we continue to have an excellent learning environment for JCCA students.”
