Geraldton Detectives today charged a teenaged male in South Hedland for Aggravated Burglary and Breach of Duty in regards to the fire at the former Blue Heelers tavern on February 18, 2021.
It be alleged the youth, who was 17-years-old at the time, entered the building and started a fire. When the fire grew larger he fled the scene.
As a result of the fire the building was completely destroyed and had to be demolished.
The now 18-year-old is due to appear in the Geraldton Children’s Court 27 July 2021.
Geraldton Detectives continue to investigate the fire.
