Assistant Watchhouse Officers suspendedin Brisbane Region

Two male assistant watchhouse officers from Brisbane Region, aged 52 and 41, have been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.

The civilian assistant watchhouse officers are subject to allegations of using excessive force on a 16-year-old male detainee in the Brisbane Watchhouse.

The boy did not sustain physical injuries or require medical treatment as a result of the incident on May 10.

An investigation was commenced after the incident was reported to police at a later date. The investigation is ongoing.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
