Attempted armed robberies in Brisbane and Logan, QLD

Police are investigating a series of attempted armed robberies in Brisbane and Logan overnight.

Around 1.40am, three men armed with firearms attended a licenced premises on Fairfield Road, Rocklea and threatened a security guard, demanding cash.

The security guard was struck by one of the men and a shot was discharged into a wall, before the trio fled the scene in a white-coloured vehicle.

Nothing was stolen and the security guard did not require medical treatment.

Later around 2.30am, the same group attempted to rob a licenced premises on Mount Lindesay Highway, Park Ridge.

They forced entry and fired a shot into a door but left empty handed. No one was injured.

The white vehicle was dumped in Waterford West around 3.45am. 

It is believed these two incidents are linked.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the businesses around the time of the incidents or have dashcam in the area that could assist to make contact.

Investigations are ongoing.
