2020 has been a challenging year for many businesses. For hairdressing it has been particularly tough, not only for the business owners unable to operate their salons at all or in restricted capacity, but also for the clients who use their salon visits as a welcome and much-needed boost to their mental health and self-esteem. So to say thank you to all of Australia’s amazing hairdressing community, the Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) has launched the inaugural LOVE YOUR HAIRDRESSER DAY on Tuesday 10th November 2020.
“Hairdressing, like many businesses, has had a tough year with the pandemic,” says AHC CEO Sandy Chong. “But it goes beyond that. The hairdresser is a place where people go to escape and feel good. Visiting a salon is great for a person’s self-esteem and mental health. Everyone feels better after a haircut. So we wanted to acknowledge how hairdressers around Australia have helped so many people during this difficult time – and give some love back to them.”
“To show a swell of support, we want to celebrate our hairdressing community on the second Tuesday of November EVERY YEAR so it becomes an annual event. Plus it’s a great occasion for our hairdressers and barbers to celebrate their craft, their teams and their business – and a fun way for clients to show their appreciation too.

· Recommend the business to friends and family
· Buy a gift voucher
Not only will consumers #sharethelove for their favourite hairdresser, they’ll be supporting a local business get back on their feet again.
