Australian Parents for Climate Action

Responding to the announcement of a record $1.2 billion investment in renewable energy infrastructure by the NSW government, Nic Seton, Chief Executive of Australian Parents for Climate Action, said:

“This announcement by NSW Treasurer, Matt Kean, is a major step forward in the battle to reduce carbon emissions. Parents across Australia are worried about the impact of climate change on their kids’ futures and the impact of spiralling energy prices on their household budgets.
“This $1.2 billion investment, fast tracking transmission projects, will lock in lower energy prices in the future as unreliable coal power stations are retired. It will also will create jobs and help protect our communities already being hit hard by extreme weather events.
“We look forward to all States, Territories and the new Federal Government following suit with similar commitments aimed at combating climate change.”
