Aveley North Primary School opens with a world of opportunities

  • Aveley North Primary School welcomes students from kindergarten to Year 6

  • Aveley North Primary School is complete, with about 345 students from kindergarten to Year 6 launching into the new school year in their brand new classrooms.

    The early childhood facilities opened last year and today, Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery opened the completed $21.9 million facilities which include a state-of-the-art education support centre.

    This is the first education support facility in the greater Ellenbrook area for primary school students.

    Contemporary education is at the forefront of the school’s design, with advanced technology integrated into every classroom and specialist areas across the school for digital technologies, visual arts, music, health and physical education.

    The support centre and six teaching blocks are complemented by a dental therapy centre, extensive sporting facilities including multi-purpose courts and an oval, a covered assembly area with a canteen and music room, a library, a staff area with a conference room, an administration block, and staff and parent parking.

    The school caters for up to 580 students.

    As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

    “I am pleased to be able to open this new school which will provide students with first-class facilities in a modern learning environment.

    “There has been a very strong commitment to building an outstanding school that gives students, the best opportunities to learn and achieve their potential.

    “The school is part of the McGowan Government’s significant investment of $468.7 million to build and improve Western Australian public schools.”

    As stated by Swan Hills MLA Jessica Shaw:

    “This is the first education support facility in the greater Ellenbrook area for primary school students, and provides inclusive and high-quality learning opportunities for children at all levels.

    “There is an incredible buzz around the brand new facilities at Aveley North Primary School.

    “Anticipation throughout the community has been building with significant population growth in suburbs through the eastern corridor of Perth including Aveley, The Vines, Belhus and Ellenbrook.”
