Aviation software firm one of 27 companies to receive export support funding

Adelaide-based aviation software developer, Avinet, is one of twenty-seven South Australian companies to share in more than $544,000 in State Government grants to help increase exports into key international markets.

The grants, from the South Australia Export Accelerator (SAEA) program, can be used by local businesses to participate in international trade shows and business missions, produce marketing collateral, conduct market research, e-commerce development, and undertake export training and consultation.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgway said the latest round of grant recipients covers a broad cross section of industries including manufacturing, IT, life sciences and wine and beverages.

“It’s critical that we do everything we possibly can to boost our state’s export performance, to grow our economy and create jobs, and this is what the South Australia Export Accelerator initiative delivers,” Mr Ridgway said.

“As well as entering new markets, this funding helps companies grow their workforce, as well as enhancing our economic prosperity by creating pathways for local companies to generate two-way trade opportunities.

Avinet, who have been awarded $30,000, will use the grant money to market their innovative Air Maestro aviation software product overseas.

Avinet spokesperson Aleksandra Banas said Air Maestro is a cloud-based software solution that allows customers to manage flight records, track incidents, identify and analyse hazards and monitor complex flight and duty regulations.

“Our product allows operators to capture operational and safety data in real time and distribute the information to relevant parties instantly, which is extremely valuable in improving operational efficiency,” Ms Banas said.

“We’ve had significant interest in the software particularly in the USA and Canada, and this SAEA funding will help us attend tradeshows and meet with potential customers in these key growth markets.”

Minister Ridgway congratulated all recipients in this latest round of funding grants.

“I wish them all the best in taking South Australian produce and innovation to the world,” Mr Ridgway said.
