Bass Coast Shire Council launches Shop Eat Love Local campaign to boost our economy

Bass Coast Shire Council is proud to announce the launch of Shop Eat Love Local, our latest initiative to promote and support local business, with an exciting competition which we invite our entire community to get involved with!

Shop Eat Love Local encourages residents to support local businesses, to strengthen the community’s economy and address the spend leakage identified in the region.

According to Council’s State of the Shire report, 27% of resident’s money is spent outside the region. This results in reduced employment opportunities, decreased economic growth and less investment in the local community.

Shop Eat Love Local aims to tackle this issue by encouraging our community to support local businesses to invest in the local economy, which ultimately leads to a stronger, more vibrant Bass Coast community

To launch our new campaign, Council is running a competition from 6 March to 30 September 2023 for all our dedicated, local shoppers. Customers who spend $20 or more at participating local businesses can enter a monthly draw for a chance to win a $200 hamper of local products, provided by Council.

A random draw for winners will take place monthly, with prize winners announced via www.shopeatlovelocal.com.au and the Bass Coast Shire Council social media channels. 115 businesses across Bass Coast have already signed up to participate in the competition, and we invite more to join us.
