Be part of a public art project for Horizon Festival: Our People – Our Place

Your face and your story could be part of a public art project led by critically acclaimed artist Jody Haines to be featured during Horizon Festival 2019 on the Sunshine Coast.

Horizon Festival is calling for participants from across our healthy, smart, creative region to take part in the artwork titled Our People – Our Place which will combine portraiture, projection and sound, featuring the many faces and personal stories that make up our diverse local community.

As a part of the project, participants will be photographed and have their portraits included in a large-scale artwork projected onto various urban walls across the region.

Accompanying stories will also be recorded and made available online during the festival.

Horizon Festival director Zohar Spatz said Our People – Our Place would showcase and celebrate the diversity of our region.

“We’re seeking participants of all ages, backgrounds, genders and abilities” Ms Spatz said.

“Jody is an incredible artist, and this is a wonderful opportunity for our community to get involved in the festival in a really meaningful way.”
