City of Darwin is moving from suburban parks to a beachside location tomorrow for its next native plant giveaway.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said City of Darwin would have around 1500 native plants ready for collection by Darwin gardeners at Bundilla Beach.
“At our last giveaway at Yanyula Park in Anula we gave away 1500 plants and I expect tomorrow at Bundilla Beach is going to be just as successful,” Mr Vatskalis said.
“City of Darwin is currently well on target to deliver on the 10,000 native plants we planned to give away this financial year.
“In addition to what we’ve given away to Darwin gardeners, we’ve also added more than 15,000 plants to parks and reserves since 2018.
“Our native plant giveaways are an important part of our strategy to grow Darwin’s urban forest and create a cooler, greener more liveable city.”
