Police from the Crime Gangs Task Force have arrested and charged six participants of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
Police will allege the men met at Bordertown on Friday 21 February en-route to a National Run in Victoria.
All were charged with one count of being present with two or more criminal organisation participants. Legislation makes it an offence for participants of OMCGs from Declared Criminal Organisations to be present in public in groups of three or more. The Hells Angels OMCGs are one of the 10 Declared Criminal Organisations under the legislation.
The men charged are:
– a 52-year-old from Old Reynella
– a 31-year-old from Andrews Farm
– a 30-year-old from Gulfview Heights
– a 65-year-old from Morphetville
– a 26-year-old from Parafield Gardens
– a 58-year-old from Marion
The Old Reynella man has been bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 3 April while the remaining five have been bailed to appear in the Bordertown Magistrates Court on 24 April.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Fisher, Officer in Charge of the Crime Gangs Task Force said, “The legislation has had a significant impact on OMCG members in terms of their ability to meet, interact and plan their activities. In doing so it has reduced the incidents of public violence and enhanced community safety. SAPOL will continue to investigate OMCG associations and where sufficient evidence exists will take positive action to ensure community safety is maintained”.
