A body, believed to be that of a man reported missing from the state’s northwest, has been located.
New England Police District issued public appeals for information and launched an extensive search after the 38-year-old Glen Innes man was reported missing on Tuesday 26 December 2023.
Following extensive inquiries, about 6.30am today (Friday 5 January 2024), police located the body of a man on Furracabad Creek, Glen Innes.
Whilst the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing man.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
