Budget 2020: Delivering for Jervis Bay Territory

The 2020-21 Federal Budget is delivering $7.4 million to the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) to support the community through COVID-19 and into the future.

JBT has been hard-hit by the devastating bushfires of last summer and now the by the unprecedented challenges of the global pandemic, which is why our focus for JBT in Budget 2020 is on building long-term resilience through the delivery of targeted and practical programs and projects.

In this Budget, we are backing the local community with an additional $207,000 of ongoing support for the local emergency services through the COVID-19 state of emergency and the coming fire season. These measures are investing in the community for the long-term, helping the region not only recover from this pandemic but come out stronger and more resilient.

Our Government wants to ensure that JBT remains a great place to live, work and visit which is why we are continuing to deliver essential state-like services to the community through our $7.4 million commitment, while working to meet our broader Government priorities such as Closing the Gap for Indigenous Australians.

This Budget reaffirms our commitment to the people of JBT and Wreck Bay by rolling-out vital programs that help support the preservation of the unique and extraordinary culture which is so deeply embedded in the surrounding land and waters of Jervis Bay.
