Georges River Council is inviting residents to register for the St George Community Safety Forum on Thursday 25 June 2026.
The Forum was established alongside the St George Police Area Command. It is part of the Council’s Community Safety Education Program. It seeks to raise awareness of local safety issues. It offers helpful crime prevention tips and builds strong ties between the community and local police.
Georges River Council resolved to create a larger, more organised safety event for the Georges River area. It marks the first Georges River Community Safety Forum.
On the night, St George Police will talk about important safety topics. These include common community safety concerns and how to report to Police, and will cover topics including business safety and personal safety.
Council representatives will present on how to report and resolve issues via the Log It Fix It portal. There will be an opportunity throughout the evening to ask questions to Council and the Police through a Q&A session.
Mayor Elise Borg said community safety is a shared responsibility.
“It’s not just about preventing crime, it’s also about creating a sense of safety in our neighbourhoods.”
“Well-lit streets, clean public spaces and well-maintained areas all play a role in how safe people feel in their community.”
“This Forum is a chance for residents to hear from police, pick up safety tips, and be united to boost awareness and safety in our community.”
