Call for information – Aggravated burglary – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have apprehended 2 persons in relation to an Aggravated Burglary in Alice Springs overnight.

Just after 2:30am, CCTV operators identified a white Nissan X-Trail driving around the Alice Springs CBD in a dangerous manner.

A coordinated response was implemented to safely stop the vehicle, whilst Strike Force Viper members attended the registered owners address on Poeppel Gardens, Gillen.

Upon arrival, Viper members identified a window that appeared to have been interfered with and observed a suspicious person within the residence.

Entry was made by police, whereupon 2 males, aged 13-years-old and 14-years-old were located hiding.

The owner who was home at the time, confirmed the Nissan X-Trail to have been stolen, and also a second vehicle, being a silver Haval.

The 2 males were arrested without incident.

The Silver Haval was located by police shortly after, abandoned nearby and has been seized for forensic analysis.

The 13-year-old male and 14-year-old male remain in custody whilst investigations by Strike Force Viper remain ongoing and are expected to be charged later today.

The white Nissan X-Trail, NT rego – CF43BP remains outstanding.
