CBA pledges up to $1 million and launches CanGive Flood Appeal

In response to catastrophic flooding across Australia’s east coast, Commonwealth Bank today announced it will expand Emergency Assistance to additional flood-affected areas in Queensland, while continuing to assist impacted customers and businesses in New South Wales and pledge $500,000 to support customers and businesses in flood-affected areas.

Retail Banking Services Group Executive, Angus Sullivan, said: “Today we’re making a $500k donation, to help get our customers who have been devastated by the floods back on the path to recovery. We’re also making it easier for our customers to show their support. We’re launching CanGive, enabling customers to make donations in the CommBank app. We’ll be dollar matching donations up to $500k.”

The expansion of the Emergency Assistance to other impacted areas is in addition to the existing Emergency Assistance available for South-East Queensland and New South Wales.

We understand that each customer will have different needs and we encourage those affected to discuss their individual circumstances with us by either phoning 1800 314 695 or visiting their nearest Commonwealth Bank branch if safe to do so.
