CCTV images released after cinema malicious damage in South Coast

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after a man damaged the front entrance to the Roxy Cinema in Nowra on Wednesday 24 November 2021.

Just before 11.00pm, an unknown man has damaged the front entrance of the Roxy Cinema on Berry Street, Nowra.

The man exited his vehicle and allegedly doused the front entrance doors with petrol and attempted to light it.

He has then retrieved an axe from his vehicle and hit the doors, causing them to break.

He then climbed on top of an air conditioning unit where he has proceeded to damage the CCTV camera.

The car is described as a white Mitsubishi Triton with unknown registration, pulling a trailer.

The male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build and unshaven. He was wearing a navy-blue long-sleeved jumper and a navy-blue cap with black sunglasses on his head.

Officers from South Coast Police District are continuing inquiries and are appealing for anyone who may have any information to contact Nowra Police Station on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
