CCTV Issued As Penrith Glassing Investigation Continues

Detectives have released CCTV still images as inquiries continue into an alleged glassing at Penrith earlier this year.

A 24-year-old man was allegedly struck twice in the face with a broken bottle in a car park of a family restaurant in Mulgoa Road about 3:15am on Sunday 22 March 2026.

He has since undergone surgery to repair a deep laceration to the left side of his face.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command commenced inquiries and have been told the man was part of a group approached by three people carrying machetes.

Police have been told the man was hit twice by the broken bottle and then punched in the face. The man was taken to Nepean Hospital where he underwent surgery for serious facial injuries.

He has since been released; however, police have been told the injuries will potentially have a life-long impact.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described being aged in his late teens/early 20s, of Caucasian appearance with a slim build, and at the time was wearing a black, hooded jumper with a white horizontal stripe, black pants and black shoes.

Police are also keen to speak with two other youths they believe can assist with inquiries. They have been described as both being male, aged 16 to 17, of Caucasian appearance, both with a slim build. The first youth was last seen wearing a plain black, hooded jumper, long black pants and black Nike runners. The second youth was also described as having short, dark hair and, at the time, was not wearing a shirt.

An image of a vehicle seen in the vicinity at the time has also been released, with investigators hopeful the driver may have information – or dashcam vision – which can assist their inquiries. The vehicle is described as a white, single-cab Toyota Hilux ute with a silver tray and silver toolbox on the back.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Penrith Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
