CCTV released as inquiries into Inner West home invasion continue, NSW

Police have release CCTV as they continue to investigate a home invasion in Sydney’s Inner West last month, where three people were allegedly assaulted – one sexually.

About 5pm on Saturday 22 February 2020, three people forced their way into a home at Leofrene Avenue, Marrickville.

The two men and one woman allegedly assaulted the three occupants and stole property.

During the incident, a 41-year-old woman in the house was allegedly sexually assaulted.

The three people left the property in a white Ford Falcon.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following extensive inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested at Shalvey last Sunday (15 March 2020), by officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command.

He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with special aggravated break & enter with intent – inflict grievous bodily harm, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), aggravated sexually touch another person, aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s, and aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s.

The man, from Bidwill, has been refused bail to face Newtown Local Court on Monday 18 May 2020.

A 32-year-old woman remains before the courts after being arrested at Emerton on Sunday 23 February 2020 and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

She has been charged with special aggravated break and enter with intent – inflict grievous bodily harm, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s, and two counts of common assault. The woman, from Traeger, has also been refused bail to face Mt Druitt Local Court on Friday 24 April 2020.

Police have now released CCTV images of a vehicle and its driver that they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
