CCTV released regarding Woodcroft fire investigation, South Australia

Southern District Detectives have released CCTV following an investigation into an arson at Woodcroft last month.

Police and fire crews responded to calls from the public of a fire on Sir James Hardy Way at about 6.45am on Saturday 22 August.

When police arrived, they found a hairdressing salon well alight and the blaze had quickly spread to an adjoining doctor and dental surgeries.

The fire was eventually brought under control, but the single-storey brick veneer premises was gutted in the incident.

CCTV obtained shows a black sedan, possibly a Holden Astra, with part registration 565 and letters S and M parked on Sir James Hardy Way.

Two men are then seen to get out of the car and force entry into the hair salon. A fuel container was thrown inside and accelerant poured around the shop before a fire is ignited and the two men run back to the waiting vehicle.

The car was last seen speeding off south along Sir James Hardy Way.

Anyone with information on the fire or any persons seen in the area at the time of the blaze is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au/
