On Monday, 30 January 2023, Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO CVO, 22nd Administrator of the Northern Territory, will complete her term in office and officially depart from Government House.
A ceremonial farewell will take place at Government House from 3.45 pm, involving an Honour Guard, the Australian Army Band, and the lowering and presentation of the Australian National Flag and the Northern Territory Flag to Her Honour. The Administrator and Mr Craig O’Halloran will then depart Government House in ‘NT1’ with a Northern Territory Police Motorcycle escort and do one final circuit around the State Square Precinct.
The Vice Regal vehicle is expected to depart Government House at 4.30 pm. It will be led past prominent buildings in the CBD and neighbouring State Square, beginning with the Darwin City Council Chambers, the Indonesian Consulate, around past the Northern Territory Local Court, NT House, the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly and lastly, past Government House and the Offices of the Administrator.
Members of the public can view the ceremonial farewell and bid their final farewell to Her Honour and Mr O’Halloran from outside on the front lawns of Government House as they officially complete their term in office.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors and not be visible to the public.
