February is an exciting month at Cessnock City Libraries with not one, but two, book readings with renowned local authors. Members of the community are encouraged to book their spot for the free events today!

Best-selling author and Hunter local, Lee Christine will share her latest novel ‘Glenrock’ at Kurri Kurri Library on Tuesday 6 February, 6pm-7pm.

Set in Newcastle’s idyllic wilderness, ‘Glenrock’ is a murder mystery with twists and turns, exploring themes of corruption and conspiracy.

Scott Bevan, a Newcastle-born writer, journalist, and film maker, will be attending Cessnock City Library on Thursday 8 February, 6pm-7pm, to discuss his latest book ‘Return to the Hunter’.

Bevan’s latest non-fiction accounts his second kayaking journey through the Hunter River, exploring changes to the Hunter region, while reflecting on the lives of people in his life, including those met on his first journey. Drawing on stories from his first book ‘The Hunter’, this latest release is effectively two stories in one book.

Library Coordinator Rose-marie Walters says this is an excellent opportunity to meet with the renowned authors.

“It’s wonderful to be able to host incredibly talented and local authors at our fantastic community libraries, and engage with them face to face as they showcase their recent novel,” said Ms Walters.

Cessnock City Council thanks The Book Den Cessnock for providing copies of ‘Glenrock’ and ‘Return to The Hunter’ which be available for sale and signing.
