CFA’s District Pick List Program

Update from Acting Manager Volunteer Programs Kerrie Reid

The extremely generous $27million received from public donations during the 2019/20 fire season is being distributed through various channels, including $4.8m for the ‘District Pick List’ program to provide tangible support at a local level.

CFA's District Pick List Program

Approximately 95 per cent of our Brigades embraced the opportunity to receive their share of over 11,800 practical items approved in the program.

The program has been a new process for CFA; designed specifically to be an efficient, equitable and strategic distribution of practical equipment to brigades to meet a variety of needs as identified by Brigades and Groups.

The District Pick List Program program was designed in conjunction with a range of stakeholders and funded by the Trustees of the CFA & Brigades Donations Fund to provide a great opportunity for members across the state to choose specific equipment for their brigade based on their local needs.

However, we want to hear from you about what worked, what could be improved, and what your ideas are for use of donations in the future.

Head to the ‘Your Say CFA’ site and provide your feedback.

All CFA staff and volunteers who have been involved in the program in any way are encouraged to respond. This includes members involved in decision making, coordination, procurement and installation, as well as members at brigades which requested items.

This survey will be open until 31 May 2021. Your involvement in the survey is completely voluntary and your responses will be anonymous. The survey should take about 2-3 minutes to complete.
