Challenge yourself on a TDU Hill Climb

Adelaide Hills Council and the Santos Tour Down Under have teamed up to install two new markers at the base of infamous hill climbs in the region. One of these markers sits at Torrens Hill Road, which will be the site of a hill climb finish in 2020.

In addition to Torrens Hill Road in Paracombe, a marker has been placed towards the bottom of Corkscrew Road in Montacute. Although Corkscrew Road isn’t included in the TDU race routes this year, it is hugely popular for amateur riders due to its frequency of use; over 50,000 attempts have been made to ride Corkscrew Road by cyclists using the Strava app.

It is hoped that anyone challenging themselves on these hill climbs take a moment to snap a picture with these markers and really celebrate what they’re doing.”

The Subaru Stage 3 finish of the Santos Tour Down Under will be hosted in Paracombe on Thursday 23 January 2020. The community is working with council to create a free family event that will include live music, street entertainers, food and beverage, and children’s activities.

Adelaide Hills Council is also hosting finishes in Birdwood and Stirling for the Women’s Santos Tour Down Under, and a start in Woodside and finish in Stirling for Novatech Stage 2 of the Santos Tour Down Under.
