Charges laid over burglaries committed across southern and eastern Tasmania

Police have charged a 29-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth with multiple offences including burglaries, motor vehicle stealing, breach of bail, disqualified driving and firearms offences after a traffic crash and search on 17 January.

About 11.30am police and emergency services responded to a two-car crash in Lenah Valley where the occupants had fled the scene.

Thankfully, the occupants of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.

Police conducted a search of the Lenah Valley area and located the man and youth hiding in the bush a short time later.

The man and youth were arrested, denied bail and appeared in court on 18 January.

As a result of the investigations, a large amount of stolen property was located and seized, and police are calling for members of the public who may recognise the items to make contact.











The majority of the property is believed to have been stolen from the greater Hobart area, however some is suspected to have been stolen from the Orford and Triabunna areas.
