Child and Adolescent Health Service Chair resigns

The Health Minister has today accepted the resignation of Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Board Chair Debbie Karasinski AM.

She tendered her resignation this morning, following her review of the Root Cause Analysis into the April 3, 2021 death at Perth Children’s Hospital.  

Ms Karasinski was the inaugural Chair of the CAHS Board and has been in the position since 2016.

In 2019, Ms Karasinski was made a Member of the Order of Australia for “significant service to people with a disability, and to the community of Western Australia”.

Deputy Chair, Professor Geoff Dobb has agreed to take on the role of CAHS Board Chair until the position is appointed. 

As stated by the Health Minister Roger Cook:

“My sincere thanks to Debbie for an immeasurable contribution to the health and wellbeing of the children, young people and families of WA as CAHS Board Chair for five years.

“She has shown absolute dedication and commitment and I would like to convey my personal thanks to Debbie for her contribution.”
