Child approached, man charged, NSW

A man will appear in court today after he allegedly approached a girl while she was playing in the front yard of her Warwick Farm home yesterday.

Just before 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 28 April 2020), an eight-year-old girl was in the front yard of her Burlison Street home when she was allegedly approached by a man who opened the gate and stepped into the yard.

The man spoke to the girl before she started to scream. The girl’s mother ran out of the house as the man fled the scene jumping over several neighbouring fences.

Police were called and attended a short time later.

The man was found by police hiding in the front yard of a house in Lawrence Hargrave Drive.

The 43-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with remain in building/land with intent to commit indictable offence and enter inclosed land without lawful excuse.

He was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 29 April 2020).
