Clock Is Ticking For Labor To Back Jobs

Tasmanian Government

Anthony Albanese is at risk of becoming the Grinch who stole Christmas from the people of the West Coast.

As the Labor Government attempts to make things right with Tasmanians after years of delays and indecision, they have another chance to provide certainty for the West Coast salmon industry before Christmas.

Labor’s failure to back jobs and the salmon industry has left West Coast families to face another Christmas filled with uncertainty.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government and industry have been clear: the Prime Minister must show leadership and provide certainty to our salmon industry, the West Coast community and small business owners.

The West Coast community understands the Prime Minister plans to visit Strahan this weekend, giving him the perfect opportunity to prove Labor hasn’t betrayed Tasmanian workers, regional communities, families and small businesses.

There is only one thing on the Christmas list for the people of Strahan: maintain salmon farming’s existing approvals in Macquarie Harbour, protecting local jobs.

There are 12 days until Christmas so there is plenty of time for the Prime Minister to back our calls and deliver for the people of Strahan.
