The Finocchiaro CLP Government is investing more than $1 million in youth grants and broader engagement programs to support school holiday activities, after-hours programs, regional initiatives and youth-led ideas.

Young people, community groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to create activities that keep young people learning, active, connected and having fun.

The Finocchiaro CLP Government will continue to back young Territorians as we make the Territory the best place to live, work, visit, and invest.

A new financial year means fresh opportunities for young Territorians, with $1 million in youth grant applications now open across the Territory.

The grants are designed to back local ideas and community initiatives, including school holiday workshops, after-hours youth programs, leadership activities, cultural projects, sport and recreation programs, creative opportunities and safe community events.

Acting Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality, Marie-Clare Boothby, said the grants help communities create positive and engaging opportunities for young people.

“These grants are about backing local ideas that keep young people active, connected and excited about their communities,” Minister Boothby said.

“We want young people and youth organisations to think creatively about what is needed – from school holiday programs and after-hours activities to cultural projects, workshops, performances and leadership opportunities.

“These grants have already helped deliver hundreds of activities across the Territory, and I encourage young people, community groups and organisations to look at what is available and apply.”

Applications are now open for:

Youth Vibe Holiday Grants – Up to $2,000 per school holiday period, or $6,000 across eligible holiday periods, for youth events and activities. Applications close 31 July 2026.Regional Youth Activities Grants – Funding for ongoing youth programs, after-hours services and holiday activities across regional and remote NT communities. Applications close 31 July 2026.Youth Quick Response Grants – Up to $500 for individuals and up to $2,000 for organisations and community groups to support year-round opportunities and activities. Applications close 30 April 2027.

Previous rounds of funding have supported more than 200 youth activities and events across urban, regional and remote communities, providing thousands of young Territorians with access to free and low-cost activities throughout the year.

Past funding has helped deliver dance workshops, youth drop-in programs, performance opportunities, transport assistance, personal development activities, creative programs and structured school holiday activities that build confidence, friendships and a stronger sense of belonging.

The Youth Grants Program supports the Northern Territory Youth Strategy 2023-2033 by encouraging youth participation, supporting youth development and wellbeing, and strengthening community connections across the Territory.

Applications can be submitted through GrantsNT.
