Indigo Shire Council is now accepting applications for its Community Grants Program.

The Community Grants Program provides an opportunity for groups and organisations to seek funds for projects and initiatives that benefit the community at large, when funds are not readily available from other sources.

Indigo Shire Council CEO, Trevor Ierino says, “The annual community grants support the fantastic work of our community groups and each year we see some great project ideas come to life.

“Bushfires and COVID19 have made 2020 a tough year for all including our community groups that haven’t been able to fundraise or go about their usual activities, so this year we have included a criteria option for groups that have experienced hardship.”

A total of $47,500 is available for ‘General’ and ‘Arts and Culture’ projects in 2020-2021. In addition, $2,500 is available for ‘Youth Initiatives’.

Successful grants will range from $200 to $4,000.

Council staff are available for Zoom sessions with community groups to answer any questions they may have.

Guidelines and criteria are available on the Indigo Shire Council website www.indigoshire.vic.gov.au/grants and applications close 5pm Sunday 13 December.
