- The Crisafulli Government has released the draft Rosslyn Bay State Boat Harbour Master Plan for public consultation.
- The plan will help shape the long-term future of one of Central Queensland’s most important maritime precincts.
- Community consultation is open from 19 August to 20 September, with feedback helping inform the final Master Plan.
- The draft Master Plan highlights the Crisafulli Government’s commitment to investing in Central Queensland and supporting local industry after the site was neglected under the former Labor government.
Yeppoon’s iconic Rosslyn Bay State Boat Harbour is set for change with the Crisafulli Government’s release of the draft Master Plan for public consultation.
The release of the draft Master Plan comes after the site was neglected under the former Labor government who had no plan for the key piece of regional infrastructure despite growing demand and industry activity.
The Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job of planning for the future and identifying and delivering the boating infrastructure that supports regional prosperity.
Rosslyn Bay is one of Central Queensland’s most important maritime gateways, supporting commercial and recreational boating, tourism, marine businesses and access to Great Keppel Island.
The consultation marks another step in the Crisafulli Government’s plan to ensure Queensland’s maritime infrastructure continues to meet the needs of local communities, businesses and visitors well into the future.
Consultation is open now until 20 September 2026 through an online survey, with community drop-in sessions also planned during the consultation period. Feedback received will help inform the final Master Plan, expected to be completed in late 2026.
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said the release of the draft Master Plan was an important milestone for the future of Rosslyn Bay.
“Rosslyn Bay is a key Capricorn Coast asset, supporting local maritime industries, powering regional tourism and connecting locals and visitors to the Keppel Islands,” Minister Mickelberg said.
“After the former State Labor Government neglected one of Central Queensland’s most important maritime gateways, the Crisafulli Government is now getting on with planning to secure the future of Rosslyn Bay.
“As demand continues to grow, we need a clear and practical plan to ensure the harbour continues to support local jobs, businesses and the community for decades to come.
“The people who use Rosslyn Bay every day know it best, and I encourage everyone with an interest in the harbour’s future to have their say and help shape the final Master Plan.”
Member for Keppel Nigel Hutton said the consultation was a great opportunity for the community to help shape one of the region’s most important assets and ensure the Master Plan complements other local boating priorities.
“Rosslyn Bay plays a huge role in the lifestyle and economy of the Capricorn Coast, supporting local businesses, tourism operators, boaties and families right across the region,” Mr Hutton said.
“This is about planning ahead and making sure the harbour continues to meet the needs of our growing community through expanded facilities, including more car and trailer parks, as well as helping the government identify new opportunities.
“I encourage locals to take a look at the draft plan, have their say and help ensure the final Master Plan reflects the priorities of the people who know and use this harbour best.”
