- The Crisafulli Government is bringing Queenslanders together during Multicultural Queensland Month, after Labor spread fear through our diverse communities.
The Crisafulli Government has partnered with Eat Street Northshore to deliver a cultural feast at the Hamilton hotspot this weekend, in yet another exciting partnership to ramp up celebrations during Multicultural Queensland Month.
The Eat Street Multicultural Festival will take place from Friday 21 August to Sunday 23 August, with up to 12,000 people expected across the weekend.
The official three-day event will fire up the flavour for Multicultural Queensland Month with what promises to be a weekend packed with food, entertainment, activities and stories from cultures across the globe.
From family-friendly arts and crafts to cultural performances, giveaways and the diverse food, the Eat Street Multicultural Festival promises something for everyone.
The Multicultural Festival celebrates the contributions of culturally diverse communities across Queensland, while also bringing people together and creating an opportunity to meet, taste, and share new experiences.
The collaboration with Eat Street Northshore follows the Crisafulli Government’s partnership with the Gold Coast Titans to deliver the official launch event for Multicultural Queensland Month at their NRL clash with the New Zealand Warriors.
While Labor focused on spreading fear and treating culturally diverse Queenslanders as nothing more than a box-ticking exercise, the Crisafulli Government is bringing people together during Multicultural Queensland Month.
Minister for Multiculturalism Fiona Simpson said the Eat Street partnership added yet another flavour to the Multicultural Queensland Month celebrations.
“The Crisafulli Government’s partnership with Eat Street Northshore for this weekend’s Multicultural Festival promises to bring even more people together, this time through a shared love of diverse food,” Minister Simpson.
“We are stronger when we come together and some of the best conversations happen around a table with some delicious food.
“There’s also so many incredible stories of culturally diverse small businesses within Eat Street Northshore already, so we want to showcase those Queenslanders who have come to our shores and contributed to our way of life by sharing their culture and growing businesses and jobs.
“During Multicultural Queensland Month, we are committed to uniting communities across the State, building bridges of mutual understanding and respect, and celebrating the people and cultures which make Queensland stronger.”
Eat Street Northshore’s Head of Brand and Marketing Ben Roach said the partnership with the Queensland Government was a perfect fit.
“Every one of our chefs carries a story, of family recipes, migration and heritage, and this festival with the Queensland Government gives us the platform to champion those stories,” Mr Roach said.
“Food is often the first way people connect with a new culture, and this partnership lets us turn that first taste into a real understanding of the people behind it.
“There’s something for every generation across the weekend. Kids can get hands-on with arts and crafts inspired by each featured culture, while mum and dad eat their way from the Philippines to Argentina without leaving Brisbane.”
The Eat Street Multicultural Festival will run from 4pm to 10pm on Friday 21 August and Saturday 22 August, and 4pm to 9pm on Sunday 23 August.
