Work is underway at the site of the new Legana Primary School, with earthworks beginning last week.
Tasmania’s strong economy means the Rockliff Liberal Government can invest in the education facilities Tasmanian learners need to thrive.
Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, said Legana is one of the fastest growing areas in Tasmania, and the new state-of-the-art primary school will support this growing community.
“Our Government is delivering on our election commitment to build a new primary school at Legana, with Vos Construction and Joinery appointed to construct the new school,” Minister Jaensch said.
“The development of the master plan for the school was shaped through extensive community and stakeholder consultation. It includes learning spaces for up to 350 students, outdoor learning areas, a multi-purpose hall and an onsite oral health clinic.
“The school was designed by Tasmanian architects Cumulus Studio, in collaboration with the project team and the West Tamar Council.”
This exciting new development is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024, with doors opening to students in 2025.
