The Cook Government has opened the second stage of the $100 million Alkimos College.

The existing drama and music rooms have been converted to a professional-quality hospitality kitchen and cafe. The cafe, for students and staff, named the Coastal Coffee Co, enables hospitality students to practice their barista training skills.

Incorporated in the English block, is a new classroom and homeroom for the college’s Specialised Autism Learning Program. Architectural design was undertaken by T&Z Architects and construction completed by EMCO Building in October 2024.

Completion of Stage 2 delivers on a 2021 election commitment and is part of the WA Labor Government’s record $4.8 billion investment into education infrastructure.
