Yesterday, 6,315 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria’s state-commissioned services. The total number of doses administered through state-run services is 4,792,262.
93.6 per cent of Victorians aged 16 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 88.9 per cent have had two doses. 93.2 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 88.1 per cent have had two doses. This excludes the most recent Commonwealth data.
There are 337 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria, 63 active cases and 65 cleared cases are in intensive care, with 34 cases on a ventilator. Of those in hospital 75 per cent were not fully vaccinated and of those in ICU 94 per cent were not fully vaccinated.
Victoria was notified of 1007 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All cases were locally acquired except for one case which was acquired overseas. The 10 Local Government areas with the highest number of new cases are Hume, Wyndham, Casey, Brimbank, Glen Eira, Melton, Greater Dandenong, Melbourne, Moreland and Whittlesea.
All locations containing new cases will be published today at Victorian COVID-19 data.
There are 13,814 active cases in Victoria. The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 108,231.
Sadly, the Department was notified yesterday of 12 deaths of people aged in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. This brings the total number of deaths in Victoria since the pandemic began to 1,260.
72,270 COVID-19 tests were processed yesterday. The total number of tests performed in Victoria since the pandemic began is 14,402,941.
There are currently more than 88,000 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.

Lifting of restrictions
The Acting Chief Health Officer has determined that from 11.59pm tonight, nearly all remaining restrictions will be lifted state-wide for fully vaccinated people.
There are also changes to self-quarantine obligations for COVID-19 positive cases and fully vaccinated close contacts of cases that come into effect at 11.59pm tonight.
Cases and contacts who already had quarantine and/or testing requirements in place before 11:59pm 18 November will be able to follow the new rules that apply to their situation. From 11:59pm 18 November:
- Current confirmed cases don’t need clearance from the Department to be released at the end of their Day 10.
- Fully vaccinated people who are currently household contacts can release themselves from 11:59pm on their Day 7 if they have a negative result from a PCR test taken at or after Day 6.
- People who are currently non-household contacts can release themselves from 11:59pm if they have a negative result from a PCR test.
- There may be limited circumstances, such as sites with significant outbreaks, where the Department, your local PHU or your child’s educational facility directly contacts you and provides you with different advice, which you must follow.
