Following a resolution at the November Ordinary Council Meeting, prospective fees and charges for proponent-initiated planning proposals are open for community feedback until Friday 15 December 2023.
An independent financial sustainability review (FSR) of Council was completed in October 2022, with a recommendation that Council complete a review of fees and charges across the organisation.
The FSR revealed that Council is not recovering the costs of providing some services through the fees and charges collected when these services are provided. This proposal seeks to cover the costs associated with proponent-initiated planning proposals.
Council performed a full review and regional benchmarking process into what is being proposed here, with an aim to ensure that the proposal is fair and equitable.
