Penrith City Council has been shining a light for the Penrith Panthers this week with the Civic Centre ablaze in the Panthers colours.
Each night this week and right through to the NRL Grand Final the Civic Centre has been awash in the red, yellow and green of the Panthers – widely known as the ‘liquorice allsorts’ colours.
Penrith Mayor Tricia Hitchen said Council and the whole city is showing its colours this week.
“I’m so excited as I look around to see our city bathed in the Panthers colours, whether that is Council lighting the building and flying the Panthers flag, to the many businesses in High Street, Penrith and Queen Street, St Marys,” Cr Hitchen said.
“I want to commend the residents too who have gone to great lengths in decorating their properties. There are some wonderful examples and there is no doubting the passion for our team in this city.”
Panthers’ supporters are encouraged to go online and get their free tickets to the family-friendly live site at St Marys. From 3.30pm on Sunday 2 October at Kokoda Place Car Park and Coachmans Park in St Marys, fans will be able to grab a seat and watch the big screen showing all the action of Grand Final day.
There will be food trucks, entertainment, and face painting for the kids at the alcohol-free event.
