We’re supporting the planning and delivery of the men’s and women’s rugby union World Cups and their domestic and Pacific legacy programs.
The legacy programs will create lasting benefits for domestic and Pacific rugby by growing the capability of local clubs, coaches and officials to create more opportunities for women and girls to get involved in all aspects of rugby.
The domestic legacy program, Impact Beyond Australia, will help address the underrepresentation of women and girls in rugby by creating new and expanded competitions for women and girls, upgrading facilities and supporting more women and girls to become coaches, referees and officials.
To strengthen rugby in the Pacific, Rugby Australia will also partner with World Rugby and Oceania Rugby to deliver the Pacific legacy program, Impact Beyond Pasifika, ensuring the future growth of the sport in the region and enhancing gender equity and equality by creating more opportunities for women and girls to play.
The World Cups are part of the green and gold decade of major sporting events hosted by Australia in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Supporting the World Cups aligns with the priorities of our National Sport Strategy, Sport Horizon, and will contributeto inspiring participation in sport, economic growth, improving gender equality and social inclusion.
