Cricket Victoria launches Past Players Program

Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the creation of a new Past Players Program which will develop, maintain and reinforce the bond that exists between those players who have represented Victoria.

The program is open to players who have played for Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades as well as Victorian First Class and List A matches.

Developed in consultation with a representative group of past players including Damien Fleming, Marcella Torre, Tony Dodemaide, Gail Schmidt and Bobby Quiney, the alumni program will act as social connection point and future business network for past players.

Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said the program would be an important part of the organisation’s approach to alumni and recognising history.

“As we know, Victoria has a long and illustrious cricket history and for CV, the way we connect with former players has, at times, been a missing link. In the creation of our past players program, we’ll be delivering opportunities to re-connect and socialise,” Cummins said.

“At a broader level, by bringing our past players together, we open lots of doors to the experiences and networks they might bring to our organisation or to the development of our current players and programs, for those who might be interested in being involved.”

The launch event for Cricket Victoria’s Past Players Program will be held later this month at the CitiPower Centre.
